Aknowledgements

We truly appreciate all the help and advice given in the past weeks by our tutor, Andrés Lanzos, who stood right next to us in this fascinating path that bioinformatics is.

Likewise, we are also grateful to various teachers in the subject of Bioinformatics, helping and teaching us the theoretical basis. We thank Roderic Guigó for his introduction to selenoproteins and the coordination of the subject; to Robert Castelo for the introduction to Unix, Algorithms and Perl language; to Cedric Notredame, for introducing us to blast and T-coffee; to Toni Gabaldón for providing us with knowledge about the creation of web pages and for the sessions of genome annotation and data analysis; and to Aida Ripoll, for introducing us the projects of this course and guiding us along the way.

We also want to mention the help provided by colleagues in other courses that had already carried out similar projects and have provided us with some ideas on which to start developing ours.

Without further ado, we want to declare that the realization of this work would not have been possible without the collaboration of the people exposed before. For that, thank you.
